One of the many fabulous Oak Ridge rides, Moon Point is an hours poke from Eugene.
We continued our Poke into the woods along the massive Hill Creek Res/Lake on another of Oregon's out-there marvel's the 60 plus mile NF21 RD.

Any how after discovering many of the print errors in the Guide book we decided to set our Start and finnish at the Campers Flats Camp and Grind from there with a nice half mile Asphalt spin warm up from there it was UP on gravel.

And UP it is on gravel for ten miles and 3350 vertical feet passing great views and time enough in the saddle to chat and solve the worlds problems.

UP,UP, UP is a good thing for Mountain Bikes as we get to use all that hard earned vertical to go DOWN on choice single track trail !!! In sweaty disbelief we wondered if we would ever get there and yes the Trail sign appeared and we munched some food and water and ...

The quick side trail to Moon Point Overlook is Well worth it as well as the subtle reminder that the Bear Grass lining trail defined the 5000' altitude ASL.

The Sun ducked the Horizon as we navigated an area of charred trees from a burn and followed by what looked to be a Thinned area of logging.

The Trail improved tremendously after the Burn/Thinned forest section into a swerving roller in open forest ended right at the Camp Ground. A great days ride, I slowed the ride down ambit getting these photos and it took us alittle under five hours and this is considered a "Scenic Senior Tour" pace according to the guide book, Looking the ride specs up later it is listed as "A Expert Aerobic and technical ride" so that sounded alitte better to me while having a senior moment fumbling for my glasses to see the road map.
